Thank you for your editor’s column of June 24 on why letting nature toast your lawn is a good thing (“Let’s all turn brown this summer”). I’ve for years been attempting to educate people on the downside of maintaining this energy guzzling, water air and sound pollution producing herd activity. Lawn mowing is a significant source of greenhouse gases two ways. The cut grasses release CO2 as well as the inefficient, two-cycle engines which are not required to have pollution control technologies. Thank you for giving salmon a chance.
