I am a one of the 24,000,000 military veterans who swore an oath to protect, uphold and defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic. I take that oath seriously as I assume do others.

All elected officials of the federal government and their appointments are sworn to do the same. It is my opinion that the latter group have not supported their oaths and in fact have ignored them for years.

In the wording of the Constitution the Executive Branch, led by the president, has the main responsibility of carrying out the laws established by the Legislative Branch fairly and efficiently.

This being the case it is the job of the president to tell “we the people” he serves and who elected him to that office that his country’s intelligence community let us down regarding the recent attempted terror actions aboard an airliner.

Indeed, it is presumed that the responsibility of “we the people” is to tell the president that he seriously dropped the ball here and he needs to fix it fast. If he can’t fix it, he needs to understand that “we the people” will find someone who can.
