Letter: Senior food program back to normal

During the recent interruption in SNAP benefits, Island Senior Resources implemented an interim policy to ensure continued access to nutritious meals — temporarily lifting age restrictions at our five community meal locations.

With the reinstatement of SNAP funding signed into law on Wednesday, Nov. 12, ISR will conclude this interim policy. The final day of open meals under this temporary measure will be Friday, Nov. 21.

We remain committed to addressing food insecurity within our capacity and will continue to respond to emerging needs with care and urgency. We are deeply grateful for the swift and generous support shown by our community partners and the public during this challenging time. Your actions ensured that individuals and families had access to quality nutrition when it was needed most.
