Purple with a purpose

Oak Harbor city and school district officials, school staff and volunteers donned purple as they greeted students at Olympic View Elementary Wednesday morning in honor of Purple Up! Day, which celebrates military children during the Month of the Military Child. Last year, 35% of the Oak Harbor School District’s population was military-connected, according to Sarah Foy, the district’s communication officer.
