Coming off a 9-3 victory over Cedarcrest at home Monday afternoon, the Coupeville High School baseball team traveled to Red Wolves' home field in Duvall on Wednesday and were handed a 5-2 defeat.

Holding a 2-1 lead, Cedarcrest scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to put the game away.

Chase Griffin was 1-for-2 with a double for the Wolves, who collected just a pair of hits off Cedarcrest pitcher Mark Bishop.

Bishop struck out nine batters in his six-plus innings of work.

Coupeville is 7-7 in Cascade Conference games and 7-9 overall.
