The South Whidbey High School volleyball team finished a series sweep of Coupeville by defeating the host Wolves 3-0 Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The Falcons cruised to the win 25-13, 25-12, 25-15.

The win helped South Whidbey (7-3, 8-3) remain in a three-way tie for second place in the Cascade Conference. The Wolves (0-10, 1-10) are still searching for their first league win.

Coupeville’s play improved recently, and coach Kirsty Croghan wasn’t sure why her team’s performance was so uneven against the Falcons.

She said being a rivalry game, homecoming week and the pressure to get a league win probably played a role.

Hailey Hammer paced Coupeville with three kills and one ace.

Sydney Autio earned six assists and an ace, and Kacie Kiel had two kills and a block.

Amanda Fabrizi was 16-for-17 in serve receive and 15-for-21 in defensive chances.

Allie Hanigan recorded four blocks, and Bree Messner was 14-for-16 in serve receive.

The Wolves journey to Sultan (2-8, 3-8) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17.
