Wolves fall to Falcons in opener / Tennis

The Coupeville High School tennis team dropped its season and conference opener 4-1 to visiting South Whidbey High School Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Zach Ginnings and Andrew Aparicio collected the Wolves’ point by winning second doubles 6-4, 6-3.

Brake Borden fell in first singles 6-1, 6-4; Mason Grove and James Wood were edged 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 in first doubles; and Thane Peterson and Koby Schreiber lost in third doubles 6-2, 6-2.

Coupeville forfeited the second singles match.

The Wolves play at Friday Harbor at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, and then host Eastside Prep at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.
