The young Coupeville high school softball team lost its second straight Cascade Conference game of the season Friday afternoon, falling to Granite Falls 13-0 in a five-inning contest.

Coupeville coach Denny Zylstra said the Tigers had a good team and a good pitcher.

“They hit the ball and their pitcher struck out eight of our batters,” he said.

Grace LaPointe had the only two hits for the Wolves.

“All four of our starting pitchers are freshmen and it shows,” Zlystra said. “This is a learning experience for them and the team and I can see improvement. That’s all I can ask.”

Coupeville is 0-2 in league games and 1-3 overall.
