With a 4-3 win over visiting Marysville-Pilchuck Tuesday, April 14, the Oak Harbor High School tennis team jumped into a three-way tie for second place in the Wesco 3A North.
Everett, Marysville Getchell and the Wildcats all hold 2-1 conference records, trailing leader Stanwood (3-0).
Oak Harbor won the top two singles and doubles matches to squeeze by M-P (0-3, 0-7).
Mckenzie Perry (6-2, 6-4) and AnnaBelle Whitefoot (6-1, 6-1) collected the singles wins.
In first doubles, Hannah Gluth and Ellysa Bonganay eked out a 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 win, while Ria Bains and Patrice Woodworth rolled in second doubles 6-0, 6-0.
The Wildcats lost close matches in third and fourth singles: Tamia Rios fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-4; and Alyssa Eden dropped her match 7-6(9), 2-6, 10-7.
In third doubles, Emma Lerch and Lauren Aspery lost 6-3, 6-2.
Oak Harbor (2-1, 2-5) entertains Arlington (0-3, 3-4) at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15.
