The Oak Harbor High School boys golf team won its second straight match, slipping by Glacier Peak and Everett at the Legion Memorial Golf Course in Everett Tuesday, March 24.

Oak Harbor posted a 434, nine shots better than Glacier Peak. Everett did not have enough players to qualify for team scoring.

Mason Dieter paced the Wildcats with a 78, which tied for medalist honors with Everett’s Cody Boll.

“Mason played well,” coach David Smith said. “It was his first medalist.”

Smith also liked the play and resolve of Ben Fikse. Fikse struggled on the front nine, shooting a 50, but recovered to post a strong 40 on the back.

Aaron Kelley shot 86, Steven Timm 89, Raiden Poe 91 and Tom Dale 100.

Oak Harbor travels to Yakima to play in the Apple Tree Tournament Friday, March 27, and then returns to the Whidbey Golf Club to host Marysville Getchell, Mountlake Terrace and Shorewood at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31.
