Picking up wins in all three relays was the difference as Lake Stevens defeated the visiting Oak Harbor High School swim and dive team 103-80 in the season opener Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Marissa Morris and Mollie Briddell each won two events to lead the Wildcats.

Morris captured the two long freestyles (200, 2:04.67; 500, 5:33.54), while Briddell took the 100 free (58.65) and 100 backstroke (1:06.31).

Irysh Concepcion helped Oak Harbor sweep the individual freestyle events, winning the 50 in 26.93.

The Wildcats’ five wins equaled the Vikings’ total in the individual events, but Lake Stevens’ relay wins earned the Vikings the victory.

Oak Harbor (0-1) will join Marysville Getchell (0-1) at Marysville-Pilchuck (0-1) at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19.
