The Oak Harbor girls varsity team narrowly defeated Mount Vernon 50-49 on Jan 14. The team is now 7-5 overall this season and 4-4 in the league.

Jiana Alcaraz-Carter led the way with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals. AJ White had 13 pts, 11 rebounds and 7 blocks, including the game-saving block at the buzzer.

“It was a physical battle versus a tough Mt. Vernon squad,” head coach Eric Collins wrote in an email. “Our girls never gave up, kept working hard for all 32 minutes and believed in each other.”
