Stanwood, the preseason favorite to win the Wesco North in tennis, handed visiting Oak Harbor High School its first loss in four matches 5-2 Thursday, March 27.

The Wildcats collected their points with comeback wins in fourth singles from AnnaBelle Whitefoot (5-7, 6-3, 6-3) and in second doubles from Caterina Amsler and Hannah Gluth (2-6, 6-3, 6-3).

Oak Harbor dropped the top three singles matches: 1, Zena Husler, 6-0, 6-0; 2, Jamie Estrella, 6-1, 6-1; and 3, Faith Franssen, 6-0, 3-6, 6-0.

Oak Harbor also fell in first and third doubles: 1, Chelsea Admire/Alyssa Eden, 6-1, 6-3; and 3, Ria Bains/Jastine Sanchez, 6-1, 6-0.

Oak Harbor (0-1, 3-1) hosts Marysville-Pilchuck (0-1, 0-4) at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 28.
