The Oak Harbor High School girls soccer team gave undefeated Glacier Peak all it could handle in the Grizzlies’ 2-0 win Saturday, Oct. 9, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
OHHS coach Jeff Laiblin said, “We played really well; it was a great team effort.”
The match turned on two calls, according to Laiblin. One led to GP’s second goal and the other took “an incredible scoring chance” from the Wildcats.
Glacier Peak (8-0, 9-0-1) defeated Oak Harbor 6-0 earlier this year.
Laiblin said, “We move forward feeling good about our performance as we enter the first of several important match-ups.”
Oak Harbor (1-7, 2-8) goes to Lynnwood (0-8, 1-9) Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. The Wildcats are trying to hold on to the sixth and final playoff spot.
