Bouncing back after finishing fourth in its pool, the Oak Harbor High School volleyball team won its bracket at the 32-team SunDome Volleyball Festival in Yakima Sept. 16 and 17.
The Wildcats went 2-4 in pool play games, matching Eastmont of East Wenatchee in the four-team division. Eastmont, however, held the tie-breaker, dropping Oak Harbor into fourth place.
The Wildcats then entered bracket play Saturday against the seven other fourth-place teams.
Oak Harbor defeated Davis of Yakima 25-11, 25-12; Mountain View of Vancouver 25-18, 25-20; and Hockinson of Brush Prairie 26-24, 25-17 to earn the bracket title.
In pool play, Oak Harbor lost to La Conner 25-19, 25-19; split with Selah, losing 25-11 and winning 25-20 (handing Selah its only loss in pool play); and split with Eastmont, losing 25-22 and winning 26-24.
Oak Harbor (1-0, 2-1) jumps back into Wesco action when it travels to Stanwood (1-0, 1-1) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20.
