Things won’t get any easier for Oak Harbor as it next opponent is the team Stanwood (6-1, 14-3) trails, Arlington.

The seventh-ranked Eagles (6-0, 14-2) come to Oak Harbor (1-5, 2-14) at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30.

The Wildcats, who have dealt with offense troubles all season, managed only three points in the opening quarter against Stanwood and trailed by nine.

Oak Harbor’s scoring improved each quarter, but it couldn’t keep pace with the Spartans, who led 25-11 at halftime.

Stanwood outscored Oak Harbor 22-10 in the third period to cement the win.

Eight different Wildcats scored, led by Janae Payne with 10. Bryn Langrock added seven, Deja Bunch five, Rashanna Graham four, Julie Jansen three, AnnaBelle Whitefoot two, Lydia Peplinski two and Jinai Guzman two.

Julia Heichel, who had three three-pointers, and Haley Strowbridge each scored 14 points for Stanwood.
