Nunez runs track for Wartburg College / Alumni update

In the recent update of Oak Harbor and Coupeville high school alumni competing in winter collegiate sports, we missed Mac Nunez.

Nunez, an Oak Harbor grad and sophomore on the Wartburg College (Waverly, Iowa) indoor track team, posted a season-best second place in the 400 meters at the Wartsburg Friday Night Lights Meet Feb. 2. His best time in the event came when he clocked a 52.16, good for seventh place at the Liz Wuertz Indoor Invitational Feb. 22.

He also ran on the Knights’ 4×400 team and helped Wartburg take third (3:31.63) at the Wuertz Invitational.

He tried his hand at several events this winter: 600 meters (1:28.92), shot put (32-07.25) and triple jump (40-00.75).
