Nine-run inning too much for ‘Cats / Baseball

Marysville-Pilchuck scored nine times in the second inning on the way to whipping the Oak Harbor High School baseball team 11-1 in five innings Friday, March 24.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Marysville (2-0, 2-2) but was moved to Oak Harbor because the Tomahawks’ field was unplayable.

M-P mixed five hits with five walks and an error to produce the big second inning.

Meanwhile, Tomahawk pitcher Eric Anderson held the Wildcats in check.

Anderson put the Wildcats down in order in four of the five innings. Singles by Dylan Bailey and Steven Richards and a pair of errors led to an Oak Harbor run in the fourth.

Anderson struck out seven and walked none.

Oak Harbor (0-4, 0-6) entertains Meadowdale (1-0) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 28.
