Unable to dig out of first-half hole, the Oak Harbor High School girls basketball team lost 36-32 to visiting Marysville-Pilchuck Thursday, Jan. 17.

The Tomahawks (1-9, 5-11) broke a 35-game conference losing streak with the win.

Oak Harbor mustered only 6 points in the first half, including just 1 in the second quarter, and trailed 21-6 at halftime.

Marysville-Pilchuck led 27-16 going into the fourth quarter, and Oak Harbor got to within 2 but the Tomahawks held on.

“(We) didn’t play well in the first half, so we faught hard and made a game of it in the second half,” Oak Harbor coach Jon Atkins said.

Jasmine Ford scored 12 points for the Wildcats. Miranda Wilson added 7, Payton Parks 6, Mikhaela Cortez 3, Olivia Waite 2 and Anna Jones 2.

M-P won the game at the foul line, hitting 12 of 22 shots; the Wildcats hit only two of six.

Oak Harbor (0-10, 3-13) heads to Snohomish (9-1, 10-6) to play the first-place Panthers at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22.
