Legion A District: Oak Harbor chased from tournament by Grizzlies

Grizzly Baseball used a seven-run third inning to rush by the Oak Harbor Legion A baseball team and eliminate the local club from the district tournament at Mount Vernon's Sherman Anderson Field Friday, July 16.

With the score tied at 1-1, the Grizzlies, based out of Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish, combined three hits, three walks, three wild pitches and two errors in the third inning to blow open the game.

Oak Harbor tallied single runs in the second, fourth and sixth innings.

In the second, Zach Zimmer reached on an error, was sacrificed to second by Brandt Johnson and scored on Andrew Snavely’s double.

In the fourth the same trio produced another run. Zimmer doubled, Johnson singled and Snavely grounded out to score Zimmer.

In the sixth, Johnson singled, D.J. Wilder reached on an error, Snavely singled and Alex Krantz walked with the bases loaded.

Cory Cameron and Nathanael Stanford rapped the only other Oak Harbor hits.
