The U-17 Islanders soccer club revved up its offense in a 6-2 win over the Issaquah Gunners Sunday, Oct. 12.

Alex Waner scored twice for the Islanders, while Chaz Purdy, Jordan Shelley, Joe Coe and Kurtis Zylstra tallied once.

“The fact that we had five different scorers is reflective of how the men are opening up the field of play,” coach Curtis Vieke said.

The Islanders play next at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at Fort Nugent Park.
