Huffer finishes 10th at PNS championships | Youth swimming

Emily Huffer placed in all six of her events at the Pacific Northwest Swimming Washington State Senior Short Course Championships Dec. 19-22 at Federal Way.

Emily Huffer placed in all six of her events at the Pacific Northwest Swimming Washington State Senior Short Course Championships Dec. 19-22 at Federal Way.

Huffer, who is from Oak Harbor and competes for the Bellingham Bay Swim Team, helped BBST finish eighth out of 46 teams at the meet.

By finishing in the top eight in her six events, Huffer, 17, placed 10th overall in the girls division.

Huffer was sixth in the 200 butterfly (2:07.1) and 500 freestyle (5:10.12), seventh in the 200 backstroke (2:05.26) and 50 fly (26.47) and eighth in the 400 individual medley (4:36.99) and 100 back (58.01).

She also swam on four BBST relay teams that placed: fifth, 200 free; sixth, 400 free; seventh, 800 free; and eighth, 400 medley.
