Elena Flake, a senior on the Oak Harbor High School NJROTC precision rifle team, placed first among all Navy shooters at the All-Service National JROTC Championships in Anniston, Ala., Friday and Saturday.

Overall, Flake, who is coached by Dave Goodman, finished seventh nationally among shooters from all services and earned a distinguished ranking, the first for an Oak Harbor High School precision shooter.

In addition to being the country’s top shooter in NJROTC, Flake went through the season unbeaten in division and conference competition.
