The South Whidbey High School soccer team is expected to challenge for the state championship this season, and the Falcons showed their talent with a 9-0 win over Coupeville Thursday, March 19, at Mickey Clark Field.

Kai DaRosa and Jeff Meir each scored three goals for South Whidbey (1-0).

“It’s early in the season, so this just gives us plenty to work on,” Coupeville coach Kyle Nelson said. “(The) effort on the field was good; we will go from here.”

The Wolves (0-2) go to Kingston (1-1) for a 12:45 p.m. match Saturday, March 21.
