Coupeville still in playoff picture / Soccer

Despite losing 3-0 to South Whidbey Monday, Oct. 15, the Coupeville High School soccer team is hanging on to its postseason dreams.

The Wolves (1-8, 2-11-1) are tied with Sultan for fifth place and the final North Sound Conference playoff spot but hold the tie-breaker over the Turks.

Coupeville closes out the regular season at 6 p.m. at Granite Falls (6-3, 7-6-1) Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Sultan hosts Cedar Park Christian (4-5, 7-7) Wednesday.

The district tournament begins Monday, Oct. 22.

South Whidbey (6-3, 8-5-1) scored late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room then added a pair of goals after the break to blank the Wolves Monday.
