Coupeville beats Bush / Tennis

Playing at full strength for the first time this season, the Coupeville High School tennis team won 3-2 at Bush Wednesday, Sept. 18.

In the first three matches, all loses, the Wolves played a man short and forfeited second singles because they did not have enough eligible athletes.

Miles Davidson gave Coupeville a full lineup, playing third doubles, which allowed Thane Peterson to fill in the second singles slot, where he won 7-5, 6-1.

The Wolves also received wins from Drake Borden (4-6, 6-2, 10-8) in first singles and from James Wood and Mason Grove (7-6[7-3], 6-2) in first doubles.

Zach Ginnings and Andrew Aparicio lost 6-2, 6-2 in second doubles; and Davidson and Koby Schreiber fell 6-2, 6-2 in third doubles.

Coupeville (1-3) entertains Overlake (3-2) at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20.
