The Cougars (4-2) cruised to a 25-11, 25-17, 25-15 win.

Coupeville coach Kirsty Croghan said, “Lakewood looked great tonight; they were a tough competitor.”

She added, “As a team we are still working to improve our defense and our game at the net.”

Breeanna Messner played another strong all-around game for the Wolves, registering two kills, hitting all eight serves and handling 20-of-20 serve-receive chances and 11-of-15 defensive chances.

Allison Hanigan recorded four kills and two blocks; Hailey Hammer had three kills and was 8-for-8 serving; Amanda Fabrizi collected two aces, was 25-for-26 in serve receive and finished 27-for-35 on defense; and Sydney Autio had nine assists while going 85-for-90 in setting.

Coupeville (0-6, 1-6) heads to first-place King’s (6-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.
