A week of practice remains before the Washington State University football team must begin putting together a game plan for the Sept. 5 game against Stanford, and the coaching staff has yet to name who will be the Cougs’ starting quarterback for the Pac-10 opener in Pullman.

Right now, senior Kevin Lopina is in a dead heat with former Oak Harbor High School standout signal caller Marshall Lobestall, a sophomore, for the starting job.

WSU offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Todd Sturdy said both players are getting a lot of reps on the field with both the first and second offensive teams and reported he is going to have to sit down with head coach Paul Wulff in the next couple of days and make a decision.
