“Wish … hope … dream, then make it happen!” was the theme of the evening as Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor gathered at the Whidbey Golf and Country Club for the Installation of the 2009-2010 Board of Officers.

Incoming President Peggy Whitford was surprised at the June 22 event with a letter of congratulations from Oak Harbor Mayor Jim Slowick. The letter commended the Oak Harbor Soroptimists for their dedicated service to the community, citing the club’s most recent fundraising campaign that helped to raise funds to purchase a digital mammography machine for the Whidbey General Hospital North Whidbey Clinic.

The mission of Soroptimist International is to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor meets every Friday morning, 7:30 a.m., at the CPO Club. For more information please contact President Peggy Whitford at 360-969-1806.
