Everett scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning and four more in the top of the second, and went on to defeat Oak Harbor 10-0 in a Tuesday WesCo North softball matchup.

The loss was the sixth straight for the Wildcats, 0-6 league, 3-6 overall.

Once again, errors plagued Oak Harbor and the Wildcats committed five miscues in the game and coach Jessica Weilke said only four of the Seagull runs were earned.

Whitney Osborne threw the first two innings of the game for Oak Harbor giving up six runs and walked three Seagull batters.

The junior had control problems in the top of the second inning and the three walks she surrendered resulted in Seagull runners crossing the plate.

Kayla Ratliff took the mound in relief in the top of the third and threw the final five innings. The senior gave up no earned runs while striking out four and walking one.

“It was nice to have a few hits today and we somewhat reached our hitting goal,” Weikle said. “We only struck out six times but when we got on base, we made mental mistakes that cost us. Hopefully in the next game, we can decrease our errors and score a few runs.”

The Wildcat bats for the most part have been silent this season and the team has scored just two runs in six WesCo North games.

Oak Harbor had five hits in the game with Kaylee Meders and Osborn both going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Everett, 3-2 league, 6-3 overall, collected 13 hits in the game including triples by Valerie Stahl and Elizabeth Reed, and doubles by Lexie Levin and Anna Hudson.
