Cascade stops Wildcats | Swimming

Collecting only three first places, the Oak Harbor High School swim team fell 119-67 to Cascade at John Vanderzicht Pool Wednesday, Jan. 6.
The Wildcats’ best effort came in the 100-meter breaststroke where Jose Cabigting (1:23.81) and Jared Hunt (1:28.01) finished 1-2.
Eric Jensen (100-meter butterfly, 1:06.48) and Joe Gorman (400 freestyle, 4:52.5) collected the other Wildcat wins.
Gorman (200 free, 2:15.88) and Cabigting (200 individual medley, 2:55.89) also earned second places, as did Garrett Karney (100 backstroke, 1:36.71).
The Wildcats added second places in all three relays: 200 medley (Karney, Cabigting, Jensen, Andrew Snyder), 2:13.91; 200 free (Snyder, Jensen, Cole McCaslin, Gorman); and 400 free (Karney, Quinn Karney, Gorman, McCaslin), 4:43.68.
Oak Harbor (2-5) faces Marysville-Pilchuck (0-5) and Marysville Getchell (0-5) at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 12, at M-P High School.
