On Monday afternoon, Briar Stanley stroked a pair of round trippers good for three RBI, teammate Nicole Rogers drove in five runs and also had a homer and Devan Larsen collected the final four bagger as the Monroe High School softball team hammered Oak Harbor 17-0 in a game called after five innings on the 10-run rule.

The win was the first of the 2009 season for the Bearcats.

Holding a 9-0 lead, Monroe put the game away with eight runs in the top of the fifth inning.

Oak Harbor (0-3 league, 3-3 overall) had only two hits in the game.
