2 Wildcats receive all-Wesco, 1st-team honors | Soccer

Oak Harbor High School junior Eric Jensen and sophomore J.J. Mitchell were first-team, all-Wesco 3A North selections for the 2015 season, the league announced recently.

Oak Harbor High School junior Eric Jensen and sophomore J.J. Mitchell were first-team, all-Wesco 3A North selections for the 2015 season, the league announced recently.

The pair were also selected to play in the Wesco North-South all-star match June 9 at Shoreline Stadium.

Seniors Dakota Powers and Taylor Yancey were second-team selections.

Sixteen Wildcats received varsity letters this year from coach Brian Thompson: seniors Powers, Eduardo Andrade and Yancy; juniors Jensen, Kyle Truex, Alex Waner and Ramon Acosta; and sophomores Mitchell, Andrew Franssen, Seth Gluth, Jared Hoyt, Josh Coe, Kurtis Zylstra, Kegan Snell, Cameron Costner and Jordan Shelley.

Special awards were presented to Coe, Most Improved; Powers, Most Inspirational; and Mitchell, Coaches’ Award.
