Valerie Joann Varn of Oak Harbor passed away on April 2, 2007 due to complications with an ongoing illness.

Valerie is survived by her husband Roy, her daughter Mia and her son Daniel, all of Oak Harbor.

Valerie was born in San Jose, Calif., on Dec. 9, 1965, to Jose and Dora Samora.

Valerie is known for her acceptance of everyone she met and the way she loved unconditionally, but mostly she will be remembered for her beautiful smile. She was able to make people feel special just by smiling at them — it was her gift and she shared it heartily.

A memorial for Valerie will be held at Living Word Fellowship on Crosby Avenue in Oak Harbor at noon, Saturday, April 14.
