Ruri Furukawa Lane

Ruri Furukawa Lane, 29, of Oak Harbor, passed away May 7, 2010, at her home following a brief illness.

Mrs. Lane was born in Takeo, Japan, on Jan. 26, 1981, to Yukinori and Mieko Furukawa. She graduated from high school there and attended Saga University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Cultural Studies. Ruri was married to Peter Lane on Dec. 12, 2005, in Tokyo, Japan. The couple came to Oak Harbor in May 2006. Ruri and her family attended Oak Harbor Church of Christ. Her love was being a wife and mom.

Ruri is survived by her husband Peter; her two daughters, Ayana (two years) and Mika (five months); her parents, Yukinori and Mieko Furukawa of Japan; her twin sister, Rumi Furukawa and two brothers, Gouki and Seiichi Furukawa, all of Japan; all four of her grandparents in Japan; her parents-in-law, Lee and Jane Lane of Cheney; also, numerous other relatives.

A Memorial Service was held Sunday, May 9, at Oak Harbor Church of Christ, Minister Joe Cook officiating. An account has been established to assist the family with expenses incurred.
