Pamela Albright

At 4:47 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, Pamela Albright passed away at age 55 due to cancer, surrounded by her family and in their loving care, in her home in Oak Harbor.

Pam was born Dec. 4, 1955 in Chehalis to Leo and Jeanice Jussila, the youngest of four children. Her passions in childhood were her music and her horse. Every weekday afternoon found her riding her bike around Pe Ell delivering newspapers accompanied by her faithful dog, Taffi.

Pam met her future husband, Dustin, on the grade school playground in 1962. They became sweethearts in high school and were married in 1974. They lived in Chehalis and Pe Ell where Dustin was employed as a logger, until 1984 when they relocated to Whidbey Island.

Pam was a teacher in a private Christian school for 16 years, taught music lessons for more than 30 years and was an instructor at Skagit Valley College for the last few years of her life. Her students recognized and benefited from the spirit of excellence that she brought to everything she did.

For more than 40 years Pam blessed many people with her musical talent, singing and playing piano in worship services in her home church and in churches all around the Northwest.

Pam enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping and hiking, her many pets, and in her later years, a flock of chickens. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies.

She will be remembered as a faithful friend and a loving wife and mother who unselfishly poured out her life for the Lord and all those around her.

Pam is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dustin; her daughter, Erin (Jason) de Kock of Ferndale; her son, Joshua (Melody) Albright of Snoqualmie; her son, Adam (Holly) Albright of Oak Harbor; five grandchildren, Ian, Zoe, Ava, Josiah and Sophia; two brothers, Leo and Tom; and a sister, Betty.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. at Lighthouse Christian Center, 1767 Regatta Drive, Oak Harbor. There will be a reception immediately following the service.

The family suggests donations be directed toward the establishment of the Pamela Albright Memorial Scholarship, c/o Whidbey Island Bank Account No. 940173685.
