Milton ‘Bud’ Reed

Milton L. “Bud” Reed was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Bow. He passed away April 28, 2004, at his home in Anacortes, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children: Phil Reed of Yakima, Dennis Reed of Warren, Maine, Jeffrey Reed of Darrington and Kathy Sechrist of Coupeville; daughter-in-law Sue Reed of Anacortes; brother Wayne “JR” Reed of Oak Harbor; 10 grandchildren and fivegreat-grandchildren. Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Neva in 1999 and by 11 brothers and sisters.

Bud served in the US Army in World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Following his service he moved to Anacortes for 20 years. He then moved to Crescent City, Calif., for a period of time, moving back to Anacortes and finally retiring on Whidbey Island. He worked for Scott Paper Company for 27 years.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 1, at noon. at Hawthorne Memorial park, followed by a reception in the Hawthorne Reception Room.
