Lee D. Carter

Lee D. Carter, Sr., 70, of Ferndale, passed away at the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden on Oct. 13, 2008.

Lee was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Eugene, Ore., to Royal George and Mary Ann (Brown) Carter. He enlisted in the Navy in 1955 and retired from service as a lieutenant in 1979. Lee served in S.C.O.P.E (Senior Citizens on Patrol) of Ferndale and was a member of the Ferndale American Legion.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and will be greatly missed by his wife of 50 years, Sandra; children, Cynthia (Eric) Selby of Everett and Lee (Elaine) Carter of Lynden; and grandchildren, Lee and Kaitlyn Carter of Lynden.

A Celebration of Lee’s Life will be held Thursday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ferndale with a private family inurnment at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
