Imogene Violet Carter, 81, of Bend, Ore., formerly of Oak Harbor, died suddenly in her home of natural causes Nov. 17, 2003 . She was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Sedro-Woolley, and was raised in Skagit County. She was the widow of Oscar L. Carter of Oak Harbor.

Mrs. Carter was a member of several service organizations. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Emblem Club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and camping at Granite Falls.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her daughters; Sally Brown of Gresham, Ore.; Sue Carter of Bunnell, Fla.; Danette Brandt of Edmonds and Laurette Kell of McHenry, Ill. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. Donations can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital or a favorite charity.
