Henry R. Tabach of Whidbey Island died May 7, 2004, in Lake Havasu, Ariz., after complications while in the hospital there.

Born Jan. 11, 1930, he was known as a kind, thoughtful and giving friend by the many people whose lives he touched over his life time, both in the military as well as in his private life.

Henry (Toby) served in the Navy for 20 years and retired to Whidbey Island to raise his family. Henry is survived by his wife; Glynes; two daughters, Gwen Hannon of Poulsbo and Kim Engle of Coupeville; son, Don Tabach of Coupeville; deceased son, Bob Tabach, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
