Dee Ann Elizabeth Spiller was born Nov. 8, 1954, in Bremerton, Wash. as Dee Ann E. Worth. As a “Navy brat,” she traveled the world with her mother Bettie and step-father Buddy Green, seeing places such as Germany, Morocco and various duty stations in the U.S. She graduated from Adak High School in Adak, Alaska, and attended some courses at the University of Alaska and Skagit Valley College.

With her marriage in February of 1973, she resumed her role as a world traveler by marrying Robert Spiller, an active duty Navy man.

She again bounced around to more than eight duty stations in the U.S., totaling 15 household moves in over 30 years.

In the process, she raised son Christopher Dale, born in 1982 at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland, and kept husband Bob on track. Chris is currently employed as a Lab Scientist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham, and Bob is retired from the Navy and is now working full time at Tesoro Refinery in Anacortes.

Dee was employed out of the house for many years doing various jobs, including electronic assembler, retail food service, child-care and running a very successful photo lab.

Her true love was photography and she started Dee’s Photography in 2002. She loved photographing eagles.

Dee died of liver disease Nov. 14, 2013, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle at the age of 59.

She is survived by her husband Bob, son Chris, sister and brother-in-law Pat and Elmer Partridge, her cat Gizmo and four half-brothers. She was a caring wife, loving mother and the most giving person on the planet. She will be missed terribly. God bless her.
