Daniel Edward Hartt

Daniel Edward Hartt, 50, died at home in Oak Harbor on Nov. 27, 2010. He was born Feb. 21, 1960, at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane to Lucas E. and Ina M. Tate-Hartt. In 1978 he graduated from Hinkley High School in Aurora, Colo., where he was raised and spent his formative years. He was and always will be a Broncos’ fan like the rest of his family.

In April of 1982 Daniel joined the U.S. Navy where he served until March of 1995. His first and only duty station after basic training was Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. He was on the Enterprise carrier which was the first carrier to go through the Suez Canal on a mission to the Philippines. Among many assignments during his enlistment he served in Desert Storm on the J.F.K carrier. He served in the VAQ squadrons 133, 129 as an AT. He was an Aviation Tech. Daniel was Sea Op. Det. as an IMA Tech at AIMD. He also served as an Instructor at Namtragrudet NAS Whidbey Island.

In 1983 Daniel married Jennifer Addington and together they raised two great children. He graduated from SVC with an AA in general arts. He loved fishing even if he didn’t catch anything. One of his greatest joys was his son’s football team’s journey and championship in 2006. You would often find Daniel on the transit with a good story to tell. He loved tossing the Frisbee around and spending a day flying kites with his friends and family. He loved his family above anything else.

Daniel is survived by his wife Jennifer; children Erin Lee Hartt, his princess, and Miles Edward Hartt, his champ, of Oak Harbor; his two brothers, Jack of Colorado and David of Oregon; his two sisters, Theresa Aten of Colorado and Anna Hartt of New Mexico, and many nieces and nephews.
