Beulah Estella Holmes

Beulah Estella Holmes, 90, beloved mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Coupeville, died in Freeland on May 25, 2007.

She resided at a care home owned and operated by Barb and Rick King.

Beulah was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, on April 1, 1917, to Orma Shanks Brillhart and George Brillhart. She was the oldest of their four children. Beulah graduated from high school in Maumee, Ohio and married Robert D. Holmes, also of Maumee, where they lived until 1946 and had one child, Sharon Holmes Henry, now of Homer, Alaska. From 1946 to 1954 they lived in Bristol, Ind., Riverside, Mo., and Kenmore, Wash. In 1964 Beulah and Bob moved to Admiral’s Cove on Whidbey Island. Beulah was a musician and loved gardening, homemaking and her four grandchildren. Both Bob and Beulah were active members of the Admiral’s Cove Community Beach Club. They both loved traveling, enjoying trips to Egypt, China and the Southwest. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, George and Orma Brillhart, her brothers, Earl and Morris Brillhart, and sister, Myrna Miles.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Holmes Henry, her grandchildren, Anthony Davis of Monroe, Jacob Davis or Mapleton, Utah, Holly Miller of Woodinville, Wash., and Heather Allen of Kent, Wash., along with her great grandchildren, Kyle Robert Davis, Makinsie Davis, Erin Davis, Donovan James Davis, Morgan Allen, Grace Allen, Phoebe Miller and Sophie Estella Miller.
