Dalton Martin and the girls 4×200 relay team were winners in Coupeville High School’s first Olympic League track meet in a six-team contest at Kingston High School Thursday, March 26.
Because of problems with the timing and judging systems, no times were recorded for the first heat of the boys 200 and and there were issues figuring out the final team scores.
Unofficially, North Kitsap won the boys meet with 80 points, followed by Kingston (30), Port Townsend (23) and Coupeville (21).
NK also won the girls meet with 100 points, Coupeville and Kingston recorded 28 and Port Townsend 10.
Non-Olympic League schools Neah Bay and Clallam Bay also took part in the meet but were not figured in the scoring.
Martin won the discus (130-06), placed second in the shot put (39-08) and ran on the third-place 4×100 relay team (46.65) with Jared Helmstadter, Lathom Kelley and Mitchell Carroll to lead the Coupeville boys.
Kelley was second in the javelin (123-01) and sixth in the long jump (tie, 17-08); Helmstadter grabbed third in the 400 (56.3) and seventh in the 200 (24.84); and Jacob Smith was fourth in the 200 (25.5) and 400 (57.52).
The girls’ top showing came in the relays.
Marisa Etzell, Sylvia Hurlburt, Lauren Grove and Makana Stone won the 4×200 (time not reported) and placed second in the 4×100 (53.13).
Etzell, Abby Parker, Lauren Bayne and Kirsten Pelroy finished third in the 4×400 (4:45.91).
Bayne added a strong meet in individual events, placing second in the 1,600 (6:14.33), third in the 800 (2:52.76) and fifth in the high jump (4-04).
Skyler Lawrence placed third in the discus (71-02) and shot put (27-03.5) and fifth in the javelin (65-09).
Naika Hailam was third in the javelin (68-05).
The Wolves are off until Saturday, April 11, when they journey to the Cashmere Invitational.

Fifth: Carroll, triple jump, 37-00.75.
Sixth: Grey Rische, discus, 80-02; Mitchell Losey, javelin, 107-11; Carroll, long jump (tie), 17-08.
Other top-10 finishes by the girls:
Fourth: Etzell, 100, 14.51; Grove, long jump, 13-04.
Fifth: Parker, 800, 2:58.98; Amanda Foley, discus, 62-07.
Sixth: Pelroy, 200, 33.1.
Seventh: Foley, shot put, 24-00.75.
Eighth: Grove, triple jump, 24-01.
