The Oak Harbor High School boys golf team placed fourth in the Western Conference North Division Tournament Tuesday, May 10, at Stanwood’s Kayak Golf Course.

Stanwood won the team title with 416 strokes. Arlington (430) grabbed second, followed by Marysville-Pilchuck (472) and Oak Harbor (502). Maryville Getchell and Everett did not qualify for team scores.

Haven Brown paced the Wildcats by placing eighth out of 30 golfers with an 85. Austin Faux of Arlington earned medalist honors with a seven-over 79.

Oak Harbor’s Nick Whitley shot 95, Caleb Brookshier 97, Ryan Evans 111 and Rheeno Kwak 114.

“The course was very tough today — fast green and difficult pins,” coach David Smith said. “The kids play OK despite that.”

The tournament wrapped up Wesco North play for the season, and based upon points earned in conference matches, Brown received first-team, all-division honors.

Brown, Whitley and Brookshier also qualified for the district tournament, which is 8 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, May 16 and 17, at the Snohomish Golf Course.
