After losing 2-0 at Stanwood Tuesday, April 26, the Oak Harbor High School soccer team faces a critical run of matches in its quest to qualify for the postseason.

“We are still optimistic about making the playoffs,” coach Brian Thompson said. “With the return of our missing players, we think we still have a very good chance.”

The top seven teams advance to district, and Oak Harbor (2-6-1, 3-8-2) sits in eighth place, a half game behind Mountlake Terrace (3-6-1, 3-7-4), a team the Wildcats play at Edmonds Stadium Monday, May 2.

First, Oak Harbor hosts Meadowdale (2-7, 2-11) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29. The Wildcats finish the regular season at home with Marysville Getchell (3-4-2, 3-5-5) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4.
