The commenting tool on the Whidbey News-Times Web site is changing. Starting Monday, March 1, the www.whidbeynewstimes.com site will have a new commenting tool available that will work with some all-new social tools on the site. It will allow people to post photos, video, make friends, connect to Facebook, easily post calendar items, and create and join discussion groups.

One effect of this change is that existing commenting accounts with Disqus.com will no longer work on the site. Starting Monday, users will need to register an account with or site (or use a Facebook login) in order to comment.

We’ll be gathering feedback on this process once it starts, so please give the new features a try and let us know how we can improve.
