We deserve a better level of care

We are some of the smiling faces in blue who greet you when you enter Whidbey General Hospital. Most of us have been patients here and volunteering is our way of giving back to the community in appreciation of the high quality professional care and outstanding service that we received.

We are some of the smiling faces in blue who greet you when you enter Whidbey General Hospital.

Most of us have been patients here and volunteering is our way of giving back to the community in appreciation of the high quality professional care and outstanding service that we received.

It has been projected that our island population will increase by 41 percent between 2000 and 2025 and all indications are that this is happening. Whidbey General Hospital was built when “two-beds-to-a-room” was the standard of care. That standard has changed however, and a new wing with single-patient rooms will provide some important benefits to all of us. Among these are:

• Better infection control.

• Improved privacy and confidentiality.

• Faster recovery time.

• Private bathrooms.

• Adequate space for family and visitors.

• A modern infrastructure that will enable the hospital to provide the latest medical technology.

We think our community deserves this current standard of care and we enthusiastically support a “yes” vote on the upcoming hospital bond!
