Was there a motive behind the column? | Letter

Editor,

I read Brian T. Jones’ opinion article concerning Whidbey General Hospital with great interest and at first glance was impressed with the professional and laudatory poise of the article.

Then, after due diligence, I began to wonder if the Sound Off column was from the heart or something else. It would appear that Mr. Jones is the vice president of sales and marketing for a startup company called CareEvolve.

One of CareEvolve’s mission points is for small hospitals to grow their outreach programs. The tentacles of the company include billings, patient affairs, physician excess, etc.

In other words just about anything that has to do with the online services at a medical facility.

So, I would ask Mr. Jones and Whidbey General Hospital CEO Forbes if Mr. Jones or CareEvolve are employed by Whidbey General or in contractual proposal stages to affiliate the two entities?

I believe that any company that has any connection with the online services of a medical facility would be in a strong financial position. Is CEO Forbes and her team going to announce a new concept at Whidbey General concerning online services in the near future?
