Traffic: Navy driver was a poor example

I was in Northern Washington Sunday, May 26. I was traveling on the freeway near Tacoma when a newer white Mustang with chrome wheels flew past me, traveling well in excess of 80 mph. The driver was wearing a Navy uniform. He was weaving in and out of traffic and generally driving very recklessly. I was horrified to see a young child in the car with him. This child couldn’t have been more than three or four years old.

On Memorial Day, when we honor our men in uniform, I was disgusted with this dangerous and juvenile behavior from one of our service men. This young man represents our country’s finest?

We, as Americans, place our lives and liberty in the hands of men such as these. If this young man, who had so little regard for the life of the child in the car with him, is an example of our military, I am frightened for the future of this country.

I can’t help but wonder how his fellow servicemen would feel if they could have seen him. Would they be willing to fight alongside a man who has such little regard for the life of his child? If you were in a position where you had to fight for your home and family, would you want this man guarding your back? I think not.
